The Free Methodist Church in Hungary is an important center for ministry in all of Europe. Not only is the Hungary ministry team working to minister and plant churches in Budapest, but it also hosts the Budapest Ministry Center, which is the base for European missions leadership.
Serving as the meeting place for the Budapest church plant, the Budapest Ministry Center is also used for preschool music groups, recovery groups, planning meetings for both the Europe leadership and the local church, men’s and women’s groups, counseling, a homework club, and administrative offices for the Europe area director.
Churches that partner with Hungary will be able to work directly with Europe leaders in visioning for ministry in Hungary, and also come alongside several vital ministries that are important to the advancement of the kingdom of God in the context of European culture.
PortugalThe Free Methodist Church in Portugal is seeking partnership to assist in planting churches in Lisbon and beyond. International missionaries Cindi and Eduardo Angelo, from Brazil, also would benefit from partnerships as they minister in Portugal.
The churches in Portugal have seen tremendous convert growth in recent years. They regularly sponsor worship and missionary conferences that serve to build up the body of Christ. These congregations are also known for their excellent music ministry. Through a partnership with the food Bank Against Hunger, more than 60 families receive food each week. A school for leaders was established to train and form church planters and pastors. The second class will graduate in December 2009.
SpainJosh and Susy Fajardo, missionaries to Spain, have a dream for church planting in Madrid, a city of 6.5 million, and beyond. Five years ago, there was no Free Methodist Church in Spain. But, with the help of partners, the Fajardos are now working on their third church plant as they prepare to enter the urban core of Madrid. Moving into the inner city from their previous suburban church plant, the Fajardos have chosen a location for a ministry center (pictured above), and are now hoping for partners to help shape the vision and raise funds for the purchase of the property. Dreams for the inner-city ministry include a business plan for a micro industry venture, the development of house churches, and ministry to the poor, including a food bank.
Josh and Susy also have a weekly ministry to a gypsy community where drug abuse and crime are very high. As they pass out meals and share Christ in this community of tents, the Fajardos see great potential for the gospel of Christ to flourish and transform the gypsy camp and the country of Spain.
